Covid or bust?
We started our adventure to Germany on a very rocky road. We experienced lots of ups and downs and we stayed in a lot of places they were not our own. But thanks to my amazing family and Covid restrictions lifting... we finally made it to GK. The Triborder. Germany. Finally we have made it. We are settled into out home for the next four years. Adaline has started KINDERGARTEN, and Thea is now walking. Its amazing how fast these last 7 months of flown by. I am not going to miss all the stress that came with this at all but we are so grateful to finally be here.
We settled into our home and a little bit of a routine. We have been on a couple adventures that I'd love to share with you now.
Castles and a Zoo
That is right I said Castles! We have been to two castles so far with another on my radar this weekend. COVID-19 has yet again started to heat up and restrictions are coming back so we have been limited on where we can go. Our first castle was Schloss Paffendorf, in Bergheim Germany. I took the girls here a few times and I have even recently done a family session here. Adaline and her best friend played Disney Princesses and a sweet baby girl celebrated turning 1 !
Our second castle visit was a family trip to Cochem to see the beautiful Castle Cochem. This castle has been renovated many times and been through a ton of history. From suspected witches being tossed from its tower to the Nazis take over during the war. We had so much fun taking the little tour inside to see replica artwork and knights armor. We also saw one of the strangest chandeliers I have ever seen. I read online that in the past people would rub it for good luck. But COVID so we avoided that.
We have also adventured to Landgraaf, Netherlands to the Mondo Verde Zoo. Adaline and I rode roller-coaster and giant swing rides. We saw a few animals and walked around incredible gardens. The have replica statues of Greek mythology and a cave that was said to be the gateway to hell. Yikes!
I will try my best to keep blog posts up to date with more adventures as we get out there and travel some more. Until next time <3
