Catholic Traditions
This wedding was a blast. I was hired by Paradise Studios to be apart of the photography portion of this wedding and I am so glad I was there. Carrie and Patrick were tons of fun. We had about TWO HOURS for their portrait session! Listen brides and grooms, two hours is great and all but we really don't need that much time unless you are changing into several dresses. Carrie and Patrick had a traditional Catholic wedding at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor, FL.
Carrie arrived in a vintage Roles Royce. She looked absolutely stunning in her lace sleeve gown. Patrick had tears in his eyes as she walked down the isle towards him. Seeing her in her dress for the first time. After the ceremony we headed over to Philippe Park for wedding portraits. Philippe park is an incredible Florida park and I highly recommend checking it out if you are ever in the area. One of my favorite things about the park is the many massive trees covered in Spanish moss. They are stunning with the sun shining thru and a photo dream. My favorite tree is the in the park is near the Native Burial Mound. Its branches stretch way up high and all the way out to the ground. Someone painted in one of the knots to look like an eyeball, odd but I love it.
Snacks! Snacks! Snacks!
If you have never been to a Catholic wedding just know that while the ceremony is beautiful, it is very long. So after a long ceremony and another hour of photos Carrie and Patrick as well as their Maid of Honor and Best Man were all feeling a bit hungry. Due to timelines we couldn't exactly go back to the reception because the DJ and space wouldn't be ready for their arrival into cocktail hour. Instead we headed down Main street and got a snack. Carrie and Patrick first stopped to share a little dessert at the local Cold Stone Creamery. They received tons of congratulations as they walked inside to order their ice cream. I had never had a bride and groom go with the flow and be up to different things then these two. After sharing some ice cream it was decided that french fries were a must.
So off we went to the golden arches. AKA McDonalds. At first no one would come to the counter because of our cameras. But we all got some fries and relaxed a little before heading off to the party. The reception was held at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. The staff here are so wonderful by the way. They make sure everyone is enjoying themselves and having a good time, from the guests to the vendors.
This wedding is definitely one I will not forget!
